The flavors were perfectly balanced — delicate sweetness paired with subtle, natural ingredients that truly highlight the authentic Japanese taste. The texture was soft and melt-in-your-mouth, making every bite a moment of pure joy. Toiro Wagashi offers not just desserts but a cultural experience that warms the heart. Toiro is a hidden gem on Bali — a truly authentic Japanese dessert café that feels like a secret world tucked away from everything else. I’ve never seen anything quite like it here. The moment you step inside, it’s as if time slows down. The space is calm, warm, and full of quiet charm. It's not one of those trendy, fast-paced cafés — it's something far more special. The décor is thoughtful and delicate — soft lighting, wooden textures, and the most adorable little teapots I’ve ever seen. Everything feels intentional, almost ceremonial. You can tell that love and tradition live in every detail. I tried the matcha chocolate (incredible!) and two types of mochi — one with cinnamon, the other with a beautifully roasted finish. Both were chewy, rich in flavor, and deeply comforting. The kitchen is open, so you can actually see the desserts being made — it adds a kind of intimacy and connection to the experience. There’s also a long list of matcha and specialty Japanese teas — I wanted to try them all. Honestly, the whole menu is a mystery in the best way: I didn’t always know what I was ordering, but every bite was a beautiful surprise. It’s the kind of place you want to return to — not just for the food, but for how it makes you feel. Peaceful, inspired, a little nostalgic. I’m already planning to come back for the raindrop cake. I have a feeling it’ll be just as magical.

Didn't expect to find Japanese wagashi treats in Bali but we did! They're so fun and delicious and there's so many to choose from, I hope the pictures speak for themselves for what a cute and delightful afternoon treat this was! Don't let the size fool you though the portion of each treat is pretty dense and I struggled to finish my treats despite going there with an empty stomach; I definitely recommend going with a friend to be able to try many different treats. Service itself could be better as most of the time there was no staff so it took a while to order but they were polite! Atmosphere wise, Toiro is tucked away by the side of a road so the bikes and traffic passing by can be very loud and ruin the otherwise quiet cafe. It's also quite hot as there is only one standing fan. Not a deal breaker though, just be prepared! Would definitely come again to get my wagashi fix.

Each wagashi piece was a work of art, with intricate designs and delicate colors that added to the overall experience. The flavors were equally impressive, with subtle notes of matcha, sesame, and fruit that complemented the sweetness of the wagashi perfectly. What truly impressed me was the attention to detail and commitment to quality at Toiro Wagashi. From the carefully selected ingredients to the skilled craftsmanship that goes into each piece, it's clear that this shop is dedicated to preserving the traditional art of wagashi-making.

Excellent authentic service and exceptional taste! I am a huge fan of Japanese sweets and matcha and this place is by far one of the top in the area. Soft warabimochi, full of flavour matcha praline and a few grades of matcha to choose from. They don’t add milk and sugar to matcha, but if you ask they can serve it separately

This is it. Kyoto’s ceremonial matcha drink in BALI. For those of you who misses Japan really can be a good option for your fix. The sweets aren’t too sweet just perfect. Soft and tender, juicy and delightful at every bite. I love the mango jewels and matcha chocolate best. Best part you can actually bring it home frozen so can also be enjoyed at ur place.
